Bandar Seri Iskandar, the district’s capital is located about 30km from Ipoh and 30km from Lumut. Set to become a garden city, it is currently undergoing a rapid commercial development which aims to be completed by 2020.
This project serves to open up the Kinta-Pangkor Corridor, creating jobs and business opportunities, so as to transform this rural town into an urbanized commercial zone of the Perak Tengah District.
Presently, the first phase development which covers an estimated area of 250 acres is completed. It includes: single and double storey houses, commercial shop offices, the Sri Iskandar Pharmaceutical Park as well as the Taman Rekreasi Rakyat.
Also in the pipeline are the development of bungalows, semi-detached houses, shopping complexes, an Agro-Tech Institutional Park, Golf Residential Park, Homestead Water Park, Medical & Health Resort, Motor Sport Centre and Research and Development Centre.
